Suburban Pest Management For Brisbane And Surrounds

Your Local Suburban Pest Management Experts

Suburban pest management is quite different to managing pests in rural or forested areas. It comes with a unique set of problems that often can only be handled using what is called Integrated Pest Management (IPM). This approach aims to eliminate active pests, educating home owners on protecting from future pests, and following a maintenance schedule. Active Termite Solutions promotes this IPM approach through comprehensive inspection reports and treatments.

What makes suburban pest management unique?

Often homes are built close to eachother. This issue can cause two major issue for pest management. The first is that pests can spread quite rapidly in the search for food, water and harbourage. This means pests can spread to nearby homes relatively quickly. The second issue is limited inspection and treatment zones. If your pest manager cannot access a side of your home due to boundary clearance, undetected pest entry can occur. Having a pest manager assess your home and implement an IPM approach means your likelihood of pest infestations from neighbouring homes is greatly reduced.

Another issue can be communal bins. Often being set in apartment or unit complexes, these areas can become pest infested very quickly without a proper pest management plan. Ensuring regular treatments for ants, cockroaches and spiders is only one part of reducing pests. The second is educating occupants in the nearby homes about keeping the area as clean as possible, ensuring the bins have tightly closing lids, and that if the bins are ever full, no rubbish is left on the ground beside them.

Another consideration to suburban pest management is safety. Pest managers have a duty of care to ensure they are not treating homes that neighbour sensitive sites. These sensitive sites may include but are not limited to hospitals and childcare centers. Spray drift during windy days is another consideration to take into account. Ensuring that no spraying is performed during high winds or bad weather ensures safety of the environment and the neighbourhood. Active Termite Solutions risk management process ensures that any pest management programs put in place consider all risk factors.

Suburban Termite Management Quotes

We utilise satellite imagery to conduct an initial overview of the property. We look at the size and location of the structure(s) and any nearby vegetation that could affect the termite management plan. After providing you with a basic estimate, we will organise either an on-site quote, or full termite inspection. It's important to remember that any live termite activity must be treated prior to the installation of a barrier, and this is why a full termite inspection is recommended.

Active Termite Solutions uses BASF products such as Termidor and Trelona ATBS. Termidor® has been the most trusted name in termite control since 2002 and has been the benchmark for termiticides in the Australian market. This trusted technology can now be combined with the most advanced baiting system available.
